Biography
Meet The Speaker
Dr. Ginger Savely is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate Degree in Nursing Practice from Case Western Reserve University where she was honored with the Dean’s Legacy Award for her research on Morgellons disease. She is among the leading experts in the United States in the diagnosis and treatment of tick-borne diseases and is the nation’s foremost clinical expert on Morgellons disease. She serves on the scientific advisory board to BreakthroughMorgellons, a 501(c)(3) organization devoted to funding high-quality laboratory research aimed at uncovering the cause of the disease.
Dr. Savely has been in practice for 37 years and has treated over 10,000 Lyme patients since the year 2000 and about 1000 Morgellons disease patients since 2003. She was the first health care professional globally to advocate for Morgellons disease and to publish articles and letters asserting that it is an infectious condition rather than a psychiatric one. She has been an invited speaker on the topic both across the United States and in Europe and she provides guidance to healthcare practitioners worldwide on diagnosing and treating their patients who they suspect of having the disease. Her 2016 book, “Morgellons: The Legitimization of a Disease”, was the first and only scientific book dedicated to this subject.
